Sister Sandra Lupi

One only has to look around the Mater Health Services campus these days to notice that change is a constant feature of life at the Mater. The ability to initiate change and provide the necessary resources to implement change is a call to courage and risk taking at its best.

Innovation and change at the Mater are always about ways to improve patient care, ensure knowledge and skills are relevant to today’s health issues and to provide the best possible facilities and care. Our services and facilities will continue to evolve and change but the ‘why’ never changes. The motto on the Mater Cross ‘For God and Humanity’ underpins the philosophy and mission of Mater Health Services.

I take this opportunity on behalf of the Sisters of Mercy to sincerely thank the Members of the Company—Mater Misericordiae Health Services Brisbane Ltd, the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer Dr John O’Donnell and his Senior Executive Team, and all staff, volunteers and supporters of the Mater for their spirit of collaboration and innovation, their patience during difficult days of change and their dedication and commitment to compassionate care and professionalism.
