Patient satisfaction
Mater Private Hospital Redland (MPHR) was identified as the top private hospital in Australia in the final quarterly Press Ganey patient satisfaction results for the period of June to August 2007.
Having maintained a presence in the top three hospitals in Australia from the outset of the survey process in 2003, MPHR reached the highest level of patient recognition as a direct result of the hospital’s leadership, the facility culture and the commitment of all staff. It is recognised by both the local and medical community as an outstanding institution.
MPHR’s Director of Clinical Services Cheryl Clayton said the maintenance of such high standards takes a daily concerted effort by each staff member.
“Every day our staff and volunteers challenge themselves to improve the standard of care we provide to our patients,” Ms Clayton said.
“We believe that constant communication with staff, patients and doctors is the key to any successful health care setting and underpins the culture of our hospital,” she added.
“Serving the community in which we live, the exceptional feedback we receive from our patients proves that the philosophy of the Mater is certainly alive and well at Mater Private Hospital Redland.”
Mater Private Hospital Executive Director, Don Murray acknowledged the latest results saying:
“To reach this national pinnacle does not occur through luck, but rather, the commitment of all staff who contribute, either directly or indirectly, to the overall patient experience and the facility wide approach to achieving the best in quality service and clinical outcomes for all who entrust their care to us.”
“On behalf of the Mater Private Executive, Management Team and all at the Mater, congratulations to Director of Clinical Services Cheryl Clayton and the Redland team for demonstrating so compellingly that exceptional people do deliver exceptional care,” he concluded.
Mater Private Hospital Brisbane campus’ mean score results were also steady and the percentile rankings marginally up overall, another great result for Mater Health Services.
