Mater Mothers' Hospitals

The Mater Mothers’ Hospitals are one of Australia’s largest and busiest maternity facilities providing both public and private health care services to women and newborn infants from south east Queensland, northern New South Wales, and the Pacific region.

Together, the hospitals currently care for more than 8000 babies a year and cater to the needs of women and babies through antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal periods.

A tertiary referral facility, the Mater Mothers’ leads the way in managing high-risk pregnancies as well as newborn disorders. The Mater Centre for Maternal Fetal Medicine continues to achieve results amongst the best in the world and is at the forefront of ultrasound screening and fetal laser therapy techniques.
