Social responsibility
As a health care provider, Mater Health Services has a significant role in social welfare. We provide a crucial role in the health and wellbeing of a rapidly expanding community. Mater has always sought to expand this role by meeting unmet needs and seeking to provide service beyond the scope of an ‘ordinary’ hospital.
Mater’s role in the community was further enhanced in 2007 through our commitment to a variety of community-based health initiatives. We continued in the footsteps of the Sisters of Mercy by providing support to projects large and small, locally and far distant. Some of the exceptional work which has been undertaken continues to make a significant difference for those in need.
